01Do I need a doctor's referral to book a test?
Most panels at Cedar Pulse Lab do not require a physician's requisition. You can book directly for routine blood work, nutritional testing, hormone panels, and STI screening. A small number of specialised send-out tests do require a requisition, and we will confirm this when you enquire.
02How do I prepare for my appointment. Do I need to fast?
It depends on the test. The comprehensive metabolic panel requires a four-hour fast, and the lipid panel and cardiac extended panel require a twelve-hour fast. Most other panels, including the CBC, thyroid screen, and vitamin D, require no fasting. Your booking confirmation will include specific preparation instructions for whatever you have ordered.
03How will I receive my results, and how long does it take?
Results are uploaded to your secure patient portal as soon as they are verified. For most core panels collected on a weekday, that means four to six hours after sample collection. Specialised send-out tests take one to two business days. You will receive an email notification when results are ready.
04What payment methods do you accept, and can I pay on the day?
We accept credit and debit cards, and payment is taken at the time of your appointment. We do not currently accept direct insurance billing, but we can provide an itemised receipt for you to submit to your insurer. Payment in advance is also available when booking online.
05Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Yes. You can cancel or reschedule up to two hours before your appointment time at no charge, using the link in your confirmation email. Cancellations made less than two hours before the appointment may incur a $15 administrative fee, as the collection slot will have been held.
